Antique Oak Liberty & Co. Thebes Stool
A charming late 19thC oak seated Liberty & Co. Thebes stool with the original Liberty & Co label underneath however is is faded. The stool is in nice condition with the legs good and sturdy, the seat does have a few chips to the edges of the seat sides as can be seen but these are old. Liberty’s had this stool designed based on the original version that is held by Victoria and Albert Museum (Archive no. EA2481) that came into it’s possession in 1835, that stool was acquired in Thebes from a tomb and is dated to the 18th Dynasty.
It measures 37.5cm tall, the seat measures 35cm in length and 26cm deep.
